has often been said that no two engines are exactly alike. In certain respects,
this may very well be true, but at Classic Jaguar we none the less approach
every engine rebuild in precisely the same way.
We consider it an honour to have been entrusted with what is unquestionably the heart and soul of your Jaguar. |
We are also conscious of the amount of money you are investing in the rebuild. By applying our renowned meticulous standards and vast marque specific experience to your project, you are assured that your Team CJ built engine will provide you with many years of faithful service.
We only have one standard at Classic Jaguar. Our engine rebuilds are done to the highest quality standards in the industry. We have no interest in being associated with anything less. From the care taken during disassembly, through fabulous quality machine work, to the vast number of components reused by others that we replace as a matter of course, to the painstaking reassembly process where tolerances are checked and rechecked in our efforts at achieving utter perfection, there is simply nothing to compare with a CJ engine rebuild.

Our reputation in the field is such that we are constantly building engines for Jaguar owners around the world. Our air conditioned engine clean room at CJ is a perfect example of how seriously we take the task at hand.Nobody enjoys paying the high price of an engine rebuild. When the time comes for you to give your Jaguar engine a new lease of life, make sure you send it to the right place - to Classic Jaguar in Austin, Texas.
For your convenience, we will be delighted to send our US mainland customers one of our superb quality engine crates that will ensure that your engine is shipped safely and without incident. Classic Jaguar staff will make all the necessary arrangements for convenient door to door collection and delivery. All freight charges on CJ rebuilt engines are billed at our (heavily discounted) actual cost.

Prices, terms and conditions:Engine rebuild pricing is based on the assumption that the block, crankshaft, camshafts and cylinder head provided are serviceable. Where they are deemed to be damaged beyond repair, replacement components will be provided upon request, at additional cost.
There are two basic Team CJ engine rebuild specifications. 1. Stock CJ - full rebuild to standard specs, mild reliability upgrades
2. Stage One HP - high performance street
Stock Engine Rebuild
(6 cylinder XK)A stock rebuild will incorporate a number of upgrades at no additional cost. These include the installation of valve seals on the intake valves, shorter keepers, spring retainers and spring seats and much stronger ARP rod bolts and nuts. We also install tappet guide hold-down kits on every engine.

As a matter of course, all pistons, valves, guides, springs, tappets, studs, rod bolts and nuts are replaced. Tappet guides are scrupulously checked and replaced as necessary. Main cap alignment is checked and corrected by align honing, if required. CJ engine builds are meticulously balanced and most engines are resleeved during the machining process as removing the old liners is the ONLY way to properly clean the XK engine block.Detail finishing on all CJ engines is to the highest possible concours standards.
All CJ engine rebuilds are covered by our famous comprehensive limited warranty for 36 months with unlimited miles. This warranty covers all parts and workmanship, but not third party shop labor or freight.
Warranty Note:
In the unlikely event that you have a problem with your CJ rebuilt engine even after the warranty term has expired, we want to hear from you. Each case will obviously be considered on its individual merits, although we take our after sales customer service very seriously at CJ. We have built your engine to last a lifetime, not the nominal 36 month term of your warranty. We are more concerned about you, the customer, than the date on your invoice.
A unique CJ service feature!
All CJ engine and cylinder head rebuild customers will be provided with their own webpage on the classicjaguar.com domain where they can follow the progress of their rebuild through the machine work and rebuilding stage. Each customer's personalized webpage will also include an incredibly detailed Blue Print that covers every aspect of their rebuild in minute detail. In addition, our Stage One customers also receive print-outs of the flow bench testing that is carried out before and after the polishing and porting work - yet another unique service offered by Classic Jaguar.
